Chicago's iconic department stores, once a staple of State Street, are fading from the retail landscape. A new book chronicles the rich history of these stores, many of which have been in business for over 75 years. However, they are now just a small part of our lives as online shopping and big-box retailers take over. The latest casualty is a West Side Chicago department store, which will soon close its doors after decades of service.
